Immersive “choose your own adventure” with police negotiators’ work

Police Judiciaire partnered with GlobalVision Communication sàrl, based in Geneva, to create an innovative 360° video project. This project highlights the many facets of police negotiators’ work, from receiving alerts to resolving crises, including interactions with other police units and the SWAT team. The aim was to create a “choose-your-own-adventure” story, offering users an interactive and immersive experience.

GlobalVision’s role included supervising the creative brief, organizing 360° filming with advanced equipment, and capturing all sounds and effects for total immersion.

Diverse Technologies and Methodologies

For this project, GlobalVision employed state-of-the-art technologies and a robust methodology:

• Planning and Creative Brief with the Police Judiciaire to set objectives and scenarios.
• Filming with 360° cameras and microphones to capture realistic and immersive sequences.
• Post-production for video editing and tailored sound effects.

Interactive and Flexible App

To enhance interactivity, GlobalVision developed a custom in-house application. Through this app, each user can make choices at the end of each video sequence, shaping the story. This flexible approach ensures full personalization and deep immersion, with each user experiencing a unique journey.

Successful Launch at Police Day

The project was completed in just six weeks, including filming, video editing, and app creation. It was officially launched during Police Day, a major event showcasing police forces and recruitment. The 360° immersive experience was integral to this event, demonstrating how institutions can effectively use VR tools to promote their work while ensuring public safety.
