HEPIA parks treetops mapping

Customer: HEPIA (Haute Ecole du Paysage, d’Ingénierie et d’Architecture)

Brief summary: The school is part of the HES (Hautes Ecoles Spécialisées) group in Switzerland which includes 6 fields of studies. This one is specialized in engineering and architecture such as construction and environment.

Concept: HEPIA contacted GlobalVision to capture aerial views over the trees in 3 different places. The goal of the surveys was to see the evolution of their growing and to assess the effects of a specific treatment administered to them.

Solution: For that, GlobalVision realised a complete photogrammetric survey with a drone. Flying above the trees we were able to make 3 flights periods, as to assess the pre-treatment, during treatment and post-treatment evolution. Photogrammetry also allows to make precise measurements from the picture taken, which in turn enables to retrieve exact position of a surface point.
