Brief summary: Geneva Summit for Human Rights and Democracy 2018 gathers high-profile political prisoners. They are voicing out their stories and experience in the hope for authoritarian regimes worldwide to stop their wrong-doings, their endemic corruption and their various crimes. The event is growing in popularity and its reach has surged. Indeed, its ability to promote its activities, gather a truly global audience is clearly playing a big role.

Concept: This year, Geneva Summit organizers also wanted to ensure it can harness efficiently its existing Facebook supporters, as well as an overall online base of supporters. So it was decided the streaming would be webcast on two different platforms: YouTube live and Facebook live.

At the end of the day, it is more than 14’000 viewers that joined the conference through webcasting, and this certainly contributed to the huge success and recognition of this year’s edition.
It is also to be noted that this enabled a lot of interested people to join the conference online, with minimum preparation and buddget. Although not being physically able to join, this audience by far surpassed the number of people present in the conference hall.
